A few of my favorite weddings from 2011

This has been a wonderful year; God has truly blessed Visions.

Here are a few photos from some of my favorite weddings and couples for 2011.

Guest List

Preparing for Christmas and planning a wedding, WOW.   I have a tip that may help .  This is a good time to begin compiling your guests list.  Sounds crazy, right, think about it you are already obtaining addresses for your Christmas card mailing.  I'm certain alot of those same persons will be invited to your wedding.  If you keep the list you are already ahead of the game.
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Stress reducers

Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but not if you follow a few simple tips.
1.  Pray
2. Delegate, delegate, delegate.
3.  Remember less is more.
4.  Allow extra time to do things and get to places.
5.  Pace yourself.  Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
6. Take it one day at a time.
7.  Adhear to your budget.  Nothing stresses us out more than bills:)
8. Have backups.
9.  Take the time to relax.  A spa day, have your nails done, have a girls night and watch your favorite movies or playing games works wonders for your mental health.
10. Hire a good wedding planner and let her worry about the details.

Where to begin

You have just become engaged and now the planning phase of your wedding begins.  However, you are not certain where to begin. Here are a few tips I hope you find helpful.

Think about the style of your wedding.  How do you see your wedding unfolding?

Sit down with your groom, or parents and establish a budget and stick to it.

Begin compiling a guest list.  This will help you determine the size of the venue you need to accommodate your guests.  It will also help in ordering the correct amount of invitations.  Ordering additional invitations will cost you an unnecessary expense.

Hire a good wedding planner.  I know you think I'm saying this because I am one, but I am not.  A good planner can save you time, money, and produce a smooth wedding.  Make sure she is someone you work well with, listens to you and sensitive to your needs.

We'll talk again soon.

Welcome to Visions by Debra

At Visions we are committed to making your dream wedding a reality..  This is the first of many blogs to help you in your quest for the perfect wedding.  I would like to share photos of decor from one of my favorite weddings this year.  This wedding reception was held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

The photographer, Katie Wright, has a photojournalists style that captures every moment of a wedding in great detail. The couple's wedding cake was made by The Cake Artist.  If you can dream it she, Verna, can make it.

This is just a taste of what I have in store for you.  Stay tuned.
